Given:

Karim bought 5 kg cauliflower at rupees 18.50 per kg

Karim bought 10 kg potatoes at rupees 9.25 per kg

Karim sells the cauliflower for rupees 21.90 per kg

Karim sells the potatoes for rupees 12.10 per kg

To find :

The amount earned by Karim.

Solution:

Karim bought 5 kg cauliflower at rupees 18.50 per kg from wholesale market, 5 × 18.50 = Rs 92.5

Karim bought 10 kg cauliflower at rupees 9.25 per kg from wholesale market, 10 × 9.25 = Rs 92.5

The total cost price of cauliflower and potato is, 92.5 + 92.5 = Rs 185

Karim sells the cauliflower for rupees 20.90 per kg.

The selling price of 5 kg cauliflower is , 5 × 201.90 = Rs 1009.5

Karim sells the potato for rupees 12.10 per kg.

The selling price of 5 kg cauliflower is , 10 × 12.10  = Rs 121

The total selling price of cauliflower and potato is,1009.5 + 121 =Rs 1130.5

The profit earned = Selling price - Cost price

The profit earned = 1130.5 - 185

The profit earned = Rs 945.5

Final answer:

The amount of money earned by Karim is Rs 945.5
