Answer:  F / 0.15 = 100 F / 15 = 20 F / 3 = 6.67 F.

Solution:

As 15 % = 15 / 100 = 3 /20 = 0.15

1) The 3 expressions i.e. F / 0.15 ;  15 F / 100 ; 3 F / 20; are equal.

2) The no. of figurines that was bought by Kat last year might be stated in terms of the no. of figurines bought, F, this year, and the 15% :

Let n be the amount of figurines bought last year.

F be the no. of figurines bought : F  = 15% n = 0.15 n

We clear F from the expression: F = 0.15 n

Dividing both sides by 0.15:

        F / 0.15 = n or n = F / 0.15 ( by reflexive property)

To prove the equivalence of the other expressions, we use the properties of multiplication or division:

       (F / 0.15) × (100 / 100) = 100 F / 15

        100 F / 15 = (100/5)F / (15/5) = 20 F / 3 = 6.67 F

Answer:

The 3 expressions in the first case is F / 0.15 ;  15 F / 100 ; 3 F / 20; are equal. There are certain figurines that was being bought by Kat in the last year and this should be stated in the terms of the number of figures being bought and it is F this year and the amount is 15%.
