Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let prices of chocolate of kate be 1/3x

Let pieces of chocolate of tom be 1/5x

1/3x + 1/5x = 24

8x/ 15= 24

8x = 15 × 24 = 360

x = 360/8= 45

No. of chocolate pieces received by kate : 1/3x = 1/3 × 45 = 15 pieces

No. of pieces of chocolate received by tom = 1/5x = 1/5 × 45 = 9 pieces

Hope this helps you .
