Answer:

3m/s

Explanation:

First, we have to change kilometers into meters and miles into meters as we have to find out the speed and the speed's unit is METER/SECOND.

1 km is 1000 meters so 9km is 9000 meters.

1 miles is 1609 meters, approximately 1600 meters.

We find out the average speed by dividing the total distance travelled by the total time taken (Total Distance Travelled ÷ Total time taken)

So first, we add all the total distance which is 9000+ 1600 which is 10,600 miles

0.5 hours in 30 minutes because 1 hour is 60 minutes so the half of 60 is 30. It can either be taken as half of 1 (which is 0.5) or 1/2. So 60 minutes can be taken as 1 hour. We need to convert hour into seconds as the unit of speed is METER/SECOND. So 1 hour is 3,600 seconds.

Average Speed= T. Distance Travelled÷ T. time taken

10,600/3600 = 2.94≈3m/s

the SI unit is of speed is m/s. Remember to add the unit or else you'll lose marks.

Also, pls do correct me if I'm wrong somewhere or if this is isn't how we do this question. It's 1am right now and I spent 15 minutes on this while I should be studying for my chemistry test lol.
