Kathak is one of the main genre of the Indian classical dance which has its roots to the ancient India. The form of Kathak regarded to have originated from the travelling bards which are a group of story tellers of North India who are referred as Kathakars or storytellers. The Kathak dance developed during the Bhakti movement of India and the trend of theistic devotion evolved in medieval Hinduism period of India.
