Let "x" represents the total dozens of bananas bought by Kathir.
Kathir bought some bananas at Rs. 20 per dozen and same no. of bananas at Rs. 16 per dozen, so
The total cost price of two dozen bananas = 20 + 16 = Rs. 36
∴ The total cost price of one dozen bananas will be = Rs. 18
The selling price of the one dozen bananas is = Rs. 22
∴ The profit earned per dozen bananas is,
= S.P. per dozen - C.P. per dozen
= 22 - 18
= Rs. 4
The total profit gained is = Rs. 240
∴ The total dozens of bananas =
Thus, the total dozens of bananas bought by Kathir were 60.
