Kavita bought three books for ₹250 each. She sold one at a loss of 10%. The second and the
third were sold at a profit of 5% each . Was the whole transaction profitable?

Total money Kavita had = 250 for each
1st book loss =(100-10)/100×250
=45 × 5
= 225rupees
loss=250-225=25rupees
2nd book profit = (100+5)/100×250
=21×25/2
=262.5rupees
Profit=262.5-250=12.5rupees
As we know that profit on both books are same then we can do - 12.5×2
=25rupees
Therefore,profit and loss both are equal.
Which means that there is neither profit nor a loss.
