We know that according to ohm's law, V=IR

Where, V= voltage/potential

I=current

R=resistance

Now, if potential difference is constant and resistance is doubled then current will be half.

You can understand it by writing simple equation

V= ir ……(1)

V= I(2r)……..(2)

Now both V is constant we can equate both the equation as

ir= I(2r)

i=2I
