Kenchit Pothiken is the pseudonym of  Dinabandhu Mitra, a famous Bengali play-writer and poet.

He wrote a number of plays in which he depicted the image of society of his times.He is know for his most famous play Nildarpan in which he wrote about the plight and sufferings and indigo farmers as well as about the Indigo Revolt of 1858.The play informs us about the miseries of indigo farmers at the hands of indigo planters.
