Kerosene doesnot not decolourise bromine water while cooking oil doescuz cooking oil are unsaturated whilekerosene are saturated carbon compound. unstaturated carbon chains are capable of decolourising bromine water while saturated carbon chain cannot decolourise bromine water..

Kerosene does not decolourise bromine water whereas cooking oil does because cooking oil are unsaturated and kerosene are saturated carbon compounds. Unsaturated carbon chains are capable of decolourising bromine water while saturated carbon chain cannot decolourise bromine water.
