kerosene does not not decolourise bromine water while cooking oil does cuz cooking oil are unsaturated while kerosene are saturated carbon compound.

We know that unsaturated hydrocarbons decolourise bromine water which saturated hydrocarbons do not.

By this same logic, kerosene is saturated while cooking oils are unsaturated. Hence kerosene doesn’t decolourise bromine water which cooking oils do.
