Given:

Kerosene is 40% gasoline is 34% total production from crude oil is 60 million barrels

To find:

What was the total production of gasoline in kerosene combined in barrels?

Solution:

The total production from crude oils = 60 barrels

The percentage of Kerosene = 40%

∴ The production of Kerosene = 40% of 60 = \frac{40}{100}\times 60 = 4 \times 6 = 24\:barrels

The percentage of Gasoline = 34%

∴ The production of Gasoline 34% of 60 = \frac{34}{100}\times 60 = 3.4 \times 6 = 20.4\:barrels

Now, we get

The total production of Kerosene + Gasoline is = 24 + 20.4 = 44.4 barrels

Thus, the total production of gasoline & kerosene combined in barrels was → 44.4 barrels.
