The substance which vaporizes during burning gives flame. For eg:- wax, petrol, kerosene.  Kerosene being more volatile vaporizes completely and gives flame. Charcoal, on the other hand, does not vaporize and so does not produce a flame. Charcoal is a fuel which is used in home and it is combustible substance. Charcoal also produces a lot of pollution more than kerosene.
