i would like to give a very neat explanation for that...

u see a big field and the soil with all the minerals ; a,b and c.....lets say the paddy plant requires the mineral a and b for growth....if u keep repeating planting the same plant the mineral a and b will be used and the presence of c mineral is useless...

hence, say when the pea plant requiring mineral c and a was grown after the harvesting of paddy only once all the minerals were used adequetly....

so the main purpose is all the minerals in soil must be used with witty ways..and if done this way we hv different plants with proper growth and no minerals wasted in soil
