\% \: increase \: in \: height \: is \: = \frac{change \: in \: height \: in \: inches}{initial \: height \: in \: inches} \times 100
From the question
Initial height is 4feets 10inches ie converting to inches 4*12+10=58inches.
Final height is 5*12+9=69inches.
Change in height is =69-58=11inches.
Therefore % increase is
 = \frac{11}{58} \times 100
 = 18.96\%
Therefore percentage increase in Kevin's height is 18.96%
