Given:   Mallika has two flower beds in her garden

One bed has 18 rows of plants

Other has 24 rows of plants

To find:   What  is the least number of plants in each flowerbed?

Solution:

To find least number of flower in both flower beds we need to find the LCM of 18 and 24

18 = 2 × 3 × 3

24 = 2 × 2 × 2  × 3

LCM ( 18  and 24 ) = 2 × 2 × 2 ×  3 × 3 =  72

=> Least number of flower in both flower beds should be 72

18 x 4 = 72    ( 4 flowers in each row)

24 x 3 = 72   ( 3 flowers in each row)

Answer:

the answer is 72 plants

Step-by-step explanation:

since we have to find the least number of plants in each flowerbed therefore we have to find LCM of 18 and 24

prime factorization of 18 = 2*3*3

                                    24= 2*2*2*3

LCM= 3*3*2*2*2

       = 9*8

       = 72

therefore the least number of plants in each flowerbed is 72.
