This statement is one I agree with. Despite of having a biological maternal figure in her life, Kezia always seems to turn to her grandmother. Her grandmother is a more fundamental person in her life than her biological mother. We know this because her grandmother is the one who convinces her to spend her Sundays with her father and mother in the living room, asks her to make a gift for her father and is the one who comforts her after a beating.
