) Dried kidney beans need soaking and should be cooked carefully because they contain toxins on the outer skin when raw . Also dried kidney beans is hard but after soaking its swells up and becomes soft .

(b) The phenomenon involved in the above is osmosis .Osmosis is the process in which molecule of solvent  pass from  lower concentration to higher concentration.

when kidney beans are soaked in water , the water from outside medium comes into the dry kidney beans , as slowly the water moves inside the kidney beans , it swelled up . That means kidney beans have more water now.

(c) we do find the same change when a raw egg is placed in water. It is so because raw egg has hard outer covering , the shell .
