Given:-

  • Value of π = \dfrac{22}{7}

To Find:-

  • Area of figure in cm².

Solution:-

Here, Radius of Semicircle CB is 5 cm.

So, Area ⇒ \dfrac{\pi r^{2}}{2}

              ⇒ \dfrac{\dfrac{22}{7} \times 5 \times 5}{2}

              ⇒ 39.2 cm²

Now, Area of Square ABCD ⇒ ( side )²

                                               ⇒ ( 10 )²

                                               ⇒ 100 cm²

∵ Area of ΔAED is to be Excluded because we counted it in the square ABCD.

So, Area of ΔAED ⇒ \dfrac{1}{2} × Base × Height

                               ⇒ \dfrac{1}{2} × 6 cm × 8 cm

                               ⇒ 24 cm²

Now, Area of the Figure ⇒ ( Area of Semicircle CB + Area of Square ABCD - Area of ΔAED )

                                        ⇒ ( 39.2 cm² + 100 cm² - 24 cm² )

                                        ⇒ 115.2 cm²

∴ Area of the given figure in cm² = 115.2 cm².

Some Important Terms:-

  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

  • Area of Circle = πr²

  • Area of Parallelogram = Base × Height

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

  • Perimeter of Square = 4 × Side

  • Circumference ( Perimeter ) of Circle = 2πr
