the perpendicular drawn from the vertex bisects the base into equal parts.
the half of the base =1/2×12cm=6cm
let the side of the triangle=a cm
A .T.P,
2a+12=32
=>a=20/2
=>a=10cm
so the perpendicular=√{(10)^2-(6)^2} cm
=8cm
the area is =1/2×base×height
=(1/2×12×8)cm^2
=48cm^2(ans)
