Kindly explain the law of constant proportion in chemical reactions with an example. ​

-A chemical compound always consists of the same element combine together in same proportion by mass.

-This law means that whatever be the source from which it is obtained a pure chemical compound is always made up of the same element in the same mass percentage .

EX-water is compound which always consists of two elements , hydrogen and oxygen , combine together in the same constant proportion of 1:8 by mass (one part by mass of hydrogen , 8 parts by mass of oxygen )

-law of constant proportion was given by 'proust' in 1779
