Answer:

Given,

The length of the train = the distance = 270 m [ because in the question, the train have to cross a tree. So, the tree have to cross from the beginning of the train to the end of the train. ]

Speed of the train = 40.5 km/h

Time = ?

Let the time be t -----

According to the questions,

Speed = Distance / Time

=> 40.5 km/h = 270 m / t

=> t = 270 m / 40.5 km / h [ cross multiplication ]

=> t = 270 m x h / 40500 m [ Convert km to m, where 1 km = 1000 m]

=> t = 27 h / 4050 [ Divide m from both numerator and denominator and also divide 0 from both numerator and denominator ]

=> t = ( 27 x 60 x 60) s / 4050 [ Since, in the question the MCQs are in second. So, we have to convert it in second where 1 hour = 60 x 60 seconds ]

=> t = 97200 s / 4050

=> t = 24 s.

Therefore, the correct answer is (c)24s

Hope you'll understand the answer.
