Correct question :-

In the given figure AC is diameter of circle with center O. Find angle BCA and angle ADC.

Solution :

We know that :- Angle subtended by diameter on any point of circle is 90°.

Here , in the given diagram AC is the diameter and it subtends angle at points B and D.

Therefore , ∠ABC = ∠ADC =90°.....(1)

Now , we have to find out the value of ∠BCA.

In the diagram ( refer attached picture ) ABC is triangle.

∠BAC = 50° [ given in the question ]

∠ABC = 90° [ from equation (1) ]

Let ∠BCA be .

According to the question :-

=> x + 50°+90° = 180° [ sum of all angles of triangle = 180° ]

=> x + 140° = 180°

=> x = 180° - 140°

=> x = 40°

Therefore , ∠BCA = 40°

And, ∠ADC =90° [ from equation (1) ]

Answer :

  • ∠BCA = 40°
  • ∠ADC =90°
