Kindly reply as fast as possible. It is said that action = reaction....it means that if I push a box with force of 20 N (action)and still it isn't moving ....then the box is applying opposite force (reaction) same as 20 N, agree? Then, when I applied 30N of my force......then the box moved....doesn't it now show any reaction? Or it's capacity to react force was only 20 N?

Answer:

yes that is what exactly the point is....

the box doesn't move if you apply 20N force because the surface on which it is placed is capable to oppose your force of 20N

but it has a limit ,that is called limiting friction

once you overcome the limiting friction ,the surface can no longer oppose you

your 30 N might be exceeding the limiting friction

that's why the box has moved

Explanation:

you please come out of the topic action=reaction

your question lies entirely under the topic of friction

morever you should have posted in physics then you would have got a reply soon
