DivyanshiJ: Thank you! But, could you explain why -b/a= -a-1?
vipin55: it is formula and we put value of alpha and beta in formula
DivyanshiJ: ohh! But in simple if we do -b/a, we should get -(-3)/2.. Isn't it?
vipin55: no value of b and a is taken from eq. and alpha and beta are zeroes.

Here is the solution :

If there is a Quadratic equation such as :
ax² + bx + c = 0, With roots as d, and e,

Then, We can establish a relation like this :

-b/a = d + e,
and,
c/a = d*e,

Now, The given Quadratic Equation is :

x² + (a+1)x + b,

Now the roots are : 2 and -3,

From the 1st Statement we can write this !

-(a+1)/1 = 2-3 = -1

=> -a -1 = -1
=> -a = 0,
=> a = 0,

From the 1st statement again,

b/1 = 2*-3

=> b = -6,

Therefore :
Value of a = 0, and,
Value of b = -6,

=> The correct option is [D]

Hope you understand, Have a great day !
Thanking you, Bunti 360 !!
