 ('My first class is at 8:30, so I spend some time on the playground with my friends.').

Pierre finishes by saying Nous entrons dans la salle de classe à 8.20.

 ('We enter the classroom at 8:20.')

Mon fils va à l'école primaire. ('My son attends elementary school.')Je vais au collège. ('I attend junior high.') →

Here, à becomes au because collège is masculine, and it is grammatically incorrect to say à le in French. Instead, we do what is called une contraction ('a contraction'), where à le becomes au.

Translation: Pierre arrives at school at 8:00 and enters the classroom at 8:20
