subject and a verb but cannot stand alone. There are three basic types of subordinate clauses which are divided according to their function in the sentence.
Adverb clauses give information about the independent clause. They answer the questions when, why, or where.
Adjective clauses function like adjectives in the sentence.
Noun clauses function like nouns and can be used as subject, object, or object of a preposition. For the following sentences, please choose the function of the underlined clause.
