Kinetic energy=1/2mv^2 , if velocity is half and mass is double what is kinetic energy?​

Solution :-

Here given that , the velocity is havled and mass is doubled .

So now the values will be ,

  • Mass = 2m
  • velocity = v/2

Now , by substituting them

=> K.E = 1/2 mv²

=> K.E = 1/2 × ( 2m ) × ( v/2 )²

=> K.E = 1/2 × ( 2m ) × ( v²/2² )

=> K.E = m × [ v²/4 ]

=> K.E = mv²/4

It can be written as ,

=> K.E = 1/2 × mv²/2

Here , as we know that 1/2 × mv² = K.E

=> K.E = K.E/2

Hence , if velocity is halved and mass is doubled then K.E. will be halved
