If mass is doubled, leaving velocity constant, Ke is doubled. If velocity is doubled leaving mass constant, kinetic energy is increased four times. ... KE = (mv^2)/2 so if the mass is doubled and the velocity is doubled, the kinetic energy will be eight times as much.
