King Govinda made the right decision as it's not a good thing to sacrifice any living being for god because they too have the right to live and sacrificing for god won't make him/her happy and grant your wishes. If you want something you need to work towards it and not sacrifice a living being for it. Never sacrifice anything for your happiness, always thing about it more than a hundred times before doing it because when you sacrifice something without thinking you are bound to regret it later in life when you need that thing the most. it is very bad that the priest got angry at the altered law as he didn't see the same point of view which the king saw, the priest was only stuck to the thought of him being correct.
