Step-by-step explanation:

Let Rakesh's age be x

Therefore, Kiran's age is x + 24

Given,

(x + 14) = 5(x - 10)

x + 14 = 5x - 50

4x = 64

x = 16

Rakesh's age is 16

Kiran's age is (16 + 24) = 40

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

Kiran is 24 years older than Rakesh. 10 years back Kiran's age was five times the age of Rakesh.

To find :-

Find their ages.?

Solution :-

Let the present age of Rakesh be X years

Then, The present age of Kiran

= 24 years older than Rakesh

= (X+24) years

10 years ago their ages (X-10) years and

(X+24-10) years = (X+14) years

The age of Rakesh = (X-10) years

The age of Kiran = (X+14) years

According to the given problem

10 years back Kiran's age was five times the age of Rakesh.

=> X+14 = 5(X-10)

=> X+14 = 5X-50

=> 14+50 = 5X-X

=> 64 = 4X

=> 4X = 64

=> X = 64/4

=> X = 16

The present age of Rakesh = 16 years

The present age of Kiran = 16+24 = 40 years

Answer :-

The present age of Rakesh = 16 years

The present age of Kiran = 40 years

Check:-

The present age of Rakesh = 16 years

The present age of Kiran = 40 years

=> 40 = 16+24

=> Kiran's age = Rakesh' s age +24

and

10 years ago their ages 16-10 = 6 years

and 40-10 = 30 years

=> 30 = 5×6

10 years back Kiran's age was five times the age of Rakesh.
