Kiran is a teacher and her age is a two digit number such that it is 4 more than 6 times the sum of the digits forming her age. Her age 18 years ago was a two digit number formed by reversing the digits of her present age. Find her present age and then verify if she has retired or not (given that the retirement age is 60 years).

Answer:

64 and not retired.

let Kiran present age be XiYi,

which means 10x+y,

given that her age is a two digit number that is 4 more than 6 times the sum of the digits forming her age.

which means,

that is 4+6(x+y) = XiYi ,

=>4+6x+6y = 10x+y,

=> 4x-5y =4,------> eqn 1,

also given that,

her age 18 years ago,

was a two digit number formed by reversing the digits of her present age.

that means,

(XiYi-18) = YiXi,

=> 10x+y-18 = 10y+x,

=> 9x-9y = 18,------>eqn 2,

solving eqn 1 & eqn 2,

we get ,

x=6,y=4.

so kiran present age is 64

she was retired then age retirement age is </= 60.

Hope it helps u...
