Kiran asked me if I had seen the cricket match.
What is direct and Indirect Speech?
- Direct Speech is used to describe the words said by someone in exactly the same manner. The reported words are enclosed by the speech marks.
- For example, He said to me, "where are you going?"
- Indirect speech is used when we want to describe what someone said using our own words. The words can be different but the meaning should be the same.
- For example, he asked me where I was going.
