Let the number of ₹500 notes be x .

Then , the number of ₹100 notes = 2x+1 .

The value of x notes of ₹500 = 500x .

Thus , Total value = 500x+100(2x+1)

According to the question ,

500x + 100 (2x+1) = 5000

$= 500x + 100(2x + 1) = 5000$

$= 700x + 100 = 5000$

$= 700x = 5000 - 100$

$= 700x = 4900$

$= x = \frac{4900}{700} = 7$

Therefore, the number of ₹500 notes = 7 and the number of ₹100 notes = 2×7+1=14+1
