1. Amir described baba as a source of nature. This reveals that Amir respected his baba as well as afraid of him.

2. Amir pretended he has cancer because he wanted baba to talk with him. This is significant because Amir is not like other neighbourhood boys.

3. According to Mullah drinking is a sin. According to baba, the only sin is theft.

4. Baba’s father was stabbed in the throat by a thief. This affected in Robbing baba of a father and making stealing the most wretched act.

5. Baba said to Rahim khan that if he did not saw Amir being born he would never believe him as his son. This affect him in deepest part of his heart and changed him into a mean streak.
