solution : let P is the Ram's principal and 3364 - P is principal of Shyam.

after 3 years, Ram got = P(1 + 5/100)³

after 5 years , Shyam got = (3364 - p)(1 + 5/100)⁵

a/c to question,

p(1 + 5/100)³ = (3364 - p)(1 + 5/100)⁵

⇒p = (3364 - p)(1 + 5/100)²

⇒p = (3364 - p)(1.05)²

⇒p = 3708.81 - 1.1025p

⇒p = 3708.81/2.1025 = 1764

Therefore the principal of Ram is 1764 .i.e., the correct choice is (c)
