Using right hand thumb rule, curl your fingers in the direction of the current the thumb will point outwards i.e. is behaves as an N-pole. Now, if you see from the right end of electromagnet, the current will seems to move clockwise. Using right hand thumb rule, your thumb now will point inwards i.e. S-pole.

In this way you can find the N- and S-pole.
