Knowing the future paved way for the king's end in the following ways.

  • Knowing too much about our future is not a good thing. If the future is bad, one will live in fear and will waste his life. While, if the future is supposed to be good for him, he might become complacent and lazy.
  • The king having been told of his destiny tried whatever was possible to avoid it.
  • He put forth a ban on killing tigers in his state so he could kill the 100 tigers he needed to avoid dying to a tiger.
  • The king put in great effort and even married a girl from a state with a large population of tigers. He also refused to let a British officer from hunting in his forests which put his kingdom at great risk.
  • After killing 99 tigers he was looking for the 100th tiger but couldn't find it. Seeing this, his diwan, released a weak and old tiger from the circus in the jungle without telling the king.
  • The king shot the tiger and thought that he had killed it, but the tiger only fainted.
  • Believing to have killed his 100th tiger the king became quite arrogant and thought himself invincible. One day from a tiger-shaped toy for his son which had rough edges he got cut.
  • Later, the cut got infected and he died from the infection. Hence, destiny fulfilled itself.
