Bcoz KOH absorb Co2.. And bell jar experiment is to check the role of Co2 in photosynthesis.

because it is the experiment to say that CO2 is required for plants or not so KoH is placed in one jar to identify difference between the leaf with CO2 and without CO2.

Note:KoH absorbs CO2.
