i am very confused
Question is

solve [(3+√5)-(3-√5)]² by2method

that are
(1) open the bracket then solve for example [(3+√5)-(3-√5)]² = (3+√5-3+√5)² then solve

(2) by using identity
for example [(3+√5)-(3-√5)]² = (3-√5)² + (3-√5)² -2×(3+√5)×(3-√5) then solve

remember you have to do this question by both methods

Use the identity (a - b)² = a² - 2.a.b + b²

[ (3 + √5)²] - [ 2.(3 + √5)(3 - √5) ] + [ (3 - √5)²]

[ (3)² + 2.3.√5 + (√5)² ] - [ 2.(9 - 3√5 + 3√5 - 5) ]
+ [ (3)² - 2.3.√5 + (√5)² ]


(9 + 6√5 + 5) - (2.4) + (9 - 6√5 + 5)


9 + 6√5 + 5 - 8 + 9 - 6√5 + 5


9 + 6 + 5


20
