Answer:

Length of the base of the triangle=19 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

In an isoceles triangle the base is 3 more than twice of equal sides and the perimeter of triangle is 35 cm .

To find:-

Find the length of base of the Isosceles triangle?

Solution:-

Let the equal sides of an Isosceles triangle be

X cm each

Base of the triangle = 3 more than twice of equal sides

=>Base = (2X+3) Cm

So the three sides of the Isosceles triangle are

X cm , X cm and (2X+3) cm

Let a = X cm

b=(2X+3) cm

Perimeter of an Isosceles triangle = Sum of all sides

P= 2a+b units

=>P = 2X+(2X+3) cm

=>P = 2X+2X+3 cm

=>P = 4X+3 cm

According to the given problem

The perimeter of the Isosceles triangle = 35 cm

=>4X+3 = 35

=>4X = 35-3

=>4X = 32

=>X = 32/4

=>X = 8 cm

Equal sides are 8 Cm and 8 cm

Base = (2X+3 )cm

=>Base = 2(8)+3 cm

=>Base = 16+3 cm

Base = 19cm

Answer:-

Base of the given Isosceles triangle is 19 cm

Check:-

Base = 19cm

Equal sides =8cm each

Perimeter = 8+8+19 cm

P=35 cm

Verified the given relation

Used formula:-

  • Perimeter of an Isosceles triangle is (2a+b) units.
  • Where, 'a' is the equal side and 'b' is the base of the triangle.
