 Even though he was tired, he did not give up his plan because when he reached the surface of the water without Aravind, he could hear the wailing of Aravind’s aunt, with whom he was staying.  

Finally, he felt a pain on his spine and felt that his lungs were about to burst. He was about to give up his effort. Then he realized that he was the only hope for Aravind. It had been two minutes then when Aravind had fallen into the water. If he had given up his plan, the little boy would have no option other than death.
