  • 2 ohm and 3 ohm resistors are kept in series,

resistance=2+3=5 ohm.

both 2 ohm and 3 ohm resistors are kept in parallel with 5 ohm resistor ,

resistance=1/5+1/5

=2/5

net resistance=5/2=2.5 ohm

Explanation:

given that

resistance ,

R1 = 5 ohm R2 = 3 ohm R3 = 2 ohm

voltage = 4v

R2 and R3 are in series so equivalent ( Req1) combination = R2 + R3 = 3 + 2 = 5 ohm

here Req1 and R1 are in parallel so by parallel combination

1/ Req = 1/5 + 1/5 = 2/5

Req = 5/2 = 2.5 ohm

total resistance = 2.5 ohm

by ohms law

V = I X R

I = V / R

I = 4 / 2.5

I = 40 / 25

I = 1.6 ampere.

total current flowing through ammetre = 1.6 A
