Krishan has some hens and some cows. If the total number of animal heads are 59 and the total number of feet are 190, how many cows does krishan have? Allegation

Let hens' no. be x and cows' no . be y .

so,

x + y = 59.......(i)  x 2  we get

2 x + 2 y = 118.....(ii)

Hens have 2 legs and cows have 4 legs .

so,

2 x+ 4 y = 190

Subtract (ii) from(iii) .......we get,

2y = 72

so

y = 36 and x = 23
