Krishna has some fruit boxes with him to sell
He sells them either as full boxes or half boxes.
The first customer buys half a box more than half the number of boxes with Krishna. The second customer buys half a box more than half the remaining number of boxes with him. He is left with 7.5 boxes to sell after that. How many fruit boxes didKrishna have in the beginning?​

No. of boxes purchased by first customer = x/2 +1/2 (This 1/2 is the half of 1 box)

No of boxes purchased by second customer. = x/4+1/2

No of boxes left (Given in question)= 7.5

  ATQ

x/2+1/2+x/4+1/2+7.5= x

⇒8.5+3x/4=x

⇒3x/4-x=-8.5

⇒ -x/4=-8.5

⇒x/4 = 8.5 (minus sign cancels Minus sign on both side of equation)

x = 8.5 x 4

 = 34

Therefore Krishna had 34 boxes in beginning.
