Son age is y yrs

x = 6y. eq1

x - 2 = 8(y - 2)

x - 2 = 8y - 16

8y - x = 14. eq2

Now put x = 6y in. eq2

8y - 6y = 14

2y = 14

y = 7

Put y = 7 in eq1

x = 6y

x = 6×7 = 42


Kunal age = 42 yrs

Son age = 7 yrs
