actually as the matter of fact we inhale everything from our environment including carbon dioxide,carbon monoxide, nitrogen etc

But at the exchange point in our lungs i.e. alveoli blood contains hemoglobin. which attract oxygen that why oxygen get to our blood

and other gas just get exhaled

and blood only take oxygen as it oxidise our food or breakdown of food to form energy
