Question:

Find the height of the parallelogram if base is 12cm and area is 96 CM square

Answer:

Base = 12 cm

Area = 96 cm²

Height = ?

area \: of \: parallelogram \:  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times base \times height

  • Substituting values…
  • Let the height of the parallelogram = x

96 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 12 \times x

96 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 12x

96 =  \frac{12x}{2}

  • 2 and 12 will be cancelled…
  • 2 will become 1
  • 12 will become 6

96 = 6x

 \frac{96}{6}  = x

  • 6 × 16 = 96… So,
  • 6 will be cancelled to 1
  • 96 will be cancelled to 16

x = 16

.°. Height of the Parallelogram = 16 cm
