No Tobacco Workshop Held At L.G.institute
No Tobacco workshop was held at L.G. Institute on May 31, 2018 to spread awareness among the students against tobacco consumption. Tobacco kills more than 6 miilion people across the world. I million deaths occur in India due to tobacco related diseases. Dr. Amit Dhiman, Professor at the department of pulmonary medicine at Dayanad Medical Hospital gave an enlightening and informative lecture on the damage done to human body by tobacco.
The theme of the workshop was ‘Growing Trend of E-smoking and Consequences’. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Dhiman talked about the dangers of e-smoking that is growing quite popular among the youth and children. ‘E-cigarettes are as dangerous as traditional cigarettes’, he explained.
At the end, he made all the students take pledge to stay away from tobacco of all types. Mr. Ajay Sharma, the Director of L.G. Institute thanked Dr. Dhiman for conducting the workshop so successfully.
