Add both the equations
3x+y=15
+2x-y=5
(+) (-) (+)
5x=20
Therefore x=20/5=4
Put x=4 in 2x-y=5
Therefore 2(4)-y=5
8-y=5
-y=5-8=-3
Therefore
y=3
Solution: the solution of the equation is (x,y)=(4,3)
